Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Kinola processes personal data and which controls are available to users.

Publisher and data controller: Murat ERAVCI · Public developer display: Kinola Mobile · Effective date: 30 August 2026

Data we may process

Kinola may process account and identity details, family membership and roles, device and notification records, optional profile photos and voice reminders, I’m OK/status/SOS records, plans, family notes, safety-check records, location requests, explicit location sharing, Safe Zones, Yoldayım journeys and route summaries, battery/network state, membership and Google Play verification records, and security or troubleshooting diagnostics.

Secure Notes are encrypted on the device and kept separate from family-shared notes. Family notes are visible only under active membership and role rules.

Location and background location

Location features are controlled by the user. Normal location sharing is sent only to active family members selected by the user. Yoldayım, Safe Zone arrival/departure detection and active location sharing may process and send location to authorized family members while the app is in the background or closed. Sharing can be stopped in the app and location permission can be removed in Android settings.

Android battery saving, Doze, connectivity and manufacturer restrictions can delay background delivery; Kinola does not guarantee continuous or exact-time delivery. Normal location sharing does not call Google Routes; Yoldayım route calculation may use Google Routes on the server.

Purposes and family visibility

Data is used to manage account and family access, send safety and status notifications, show location and journey information to authorized family members, run reminders, verify purchases, prevent misuse, start account deletion or export, and maintain service security.

Service providers

When the relevant feature is used, Kinola may use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, App Check and Firebase Cloud Messaging), Google Maps Platform/Routes and Google Play Billing. Data is not sold for advertising and the app does not request advertising-ID permission.

Active account, family and membership data may be retained while the service is in use. Account deletion targets completion in 7 days and may retry up to 30 days when temporary failures occur. Legal retention duties can affect these periods.

Security and user controls

Communications are protected with TLS. Kinola uses Firebase Authentication, App Check/Play Integrity, family and role checks, closed-by-default data rules, server-side purchase verification and limited security logs. No system provides an absolute security guarantee.

Users can stop location sharing and Safe Zone monitoring, remove permissions in Android settings, start an encrypted export from the Privacy Center, and start account deletion. Exports do not include independent data of other users, raw location history, notification secrets, audio bytes or other secret fields.

Children and family use

Kinola does not offer direct account creation for children under 13. Family use managed by an adult family manager or guardian follows the applicable role and age rules.
